The Ruckus, Reality, and Remedy

This morning's sermon was hard to listen to. Kevin started by asking us not to make the mistake of listening to him, and to not make the mistake of not listening to what God was telling us directly. He then proceeded to read from James chapter four.
Ouch.
His three points were relevant (look at the title of this post to get them).
James is talking to born again Jewish Christians with "baggage" (as I have stated before). He is rough on them, and they obviously deserve it. They are quarreling and fighting, killing and coveting. They are selfish and not connected to God the Father because they insist on an attitude that screams, "me, me, me!"
I want to be careful about my own walk as I encounter resistance to the changes I am helping to implement in our church, and I desperately do not want to be disconnected.
Kevin's remedy for our situation can be found in verses seven through twelve. They include a humble submission to God and a change in our actions toward each other.
There is a lot of good stuff in this sermon. Check it out by subscribing to our feed or go to our website and listen.
Have a great rest of the weekend.
